There are so many ways to cook tofu : you can fry it, bake it, broil it or even steam it. I decided to try something different this time, I fried photo-1 it then braised it, and oh my goodness, it was an explosion of flavour in my mouth.

Ingredients:

– 70 grams of organic smoked tofu sliced

– 1 cup of frozen broccoli florets

– 1/4 cup grape tomatoes, halved

– 1/4 white onion, choppedPhoto1-4

– 1 tsp coconut oil

– 1 tsp extra virgin  olive oil

– 1 tsp liquid smoke

– 1/4 cup miso broth

– 1/4 cup white wine

– 2 tbsp cornstarch

 

Directions:

– brush tofu with olive oil and lightly toss in cornstarch

– add onions and tofu to heated skillet and fry in coconut oil and liquid smoke until browned

– add broccoli, tomatoes, broth and vino

–  cover, and simmer on low until all liquid is absorbed

– once served, season with freshly cracked black pepper to-taste
